We have had such a wonderful experience in Galway. Thank you for the delicious breakfasts, beautiful accomadations and a real feeling for the history of Ireland. We gained a personal perspective that made the trip that much more meaningful. I would reccomend the Periwinkle to everyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time of rest at the Periwinkle. The accommodations were pleasant, quiet and safe, and the breakfasts both delicious and generous. Yet, the most notable element of our stay was the warmth and hospitality of the owner, Joan. Not only was she determined to make our stay as comfortable as possible - Joan also extended her friendship. We enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend the Periwinkle to anyone staying in Galway!

The Periwinkle was the best B&B we stayed in during our 10 days in Ireland. The showers were hot and powerful, beds so comfortable, rooms spotless with lots of lovely touches and wonderful paintings painted by Joan herself. Breakfasts each day were great and beautifully and artistically presented. Joan herself drove us to town on a number of occasions and even made us wonderful Irish Coffees one day we got terribly wet. Thank you Joan we had a wonderful time.

MY STAY AT THE PERIWINKLE WAS VERY GOOD, THE ACCOMMODATION GREAT, THE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS THE WEATHER

Bruce & Isobel McIvo    28 April 2007 12:32 | USA
The Periwinkle is a beautiful guest B&BH in Grattan Park just off Galway Bay. only a short easy walk to the city center. Periwinkle is perfectly situated away from the hubub, but within easy access of Nora Barnacle's house, the Memorial Window, the 14th C Church, and the beautiful River Walk. The B&B is well appointed with modern facilities, including great hot showers and very comfortable beds. The breakfasts are of gourmet quality served in a beautiful dining room with garden views.
The Proprietress is affable and helpful (besides being a great Cook and wonderful artist! ) and the room service and house cleaning is excellent.
